Default Moki 2.1 or 1.8

Hey guys, I am planning out a list of things for outfitting an OMP 79" Yak. I will be buying the kit this summer as soon as I get some money together. I have a Moki 1.35 in another plane and mix fuel for it so I would like to get another moki for the OMP yak. I am trying to decide between the 1.8 and the 2.10...more power is nice as I could always throttle back, but is it even necessary? Also, please let me know what a good way to get a muffler on one of these planes with a Moki. There don't seem to be many tuned pipes out there for the moki, so I am considering an OS 1.60 fx after seeing it on the OMP website's video clip...in any case I will use a Cline regulator but please help me find an engine for the bird.

Thanks,

Chris

The best deal going is the Mark 2.10 from Morris for $249.95. It runs best on 0 nitro as you prolly already know and it's nice to have the reserve power. Like you said ... you can always throttle back.

Go that route and you can't go wrong. Only get the motor in case he moves the price up soon!

The pipes and headers have been used on the Mokis as well. You just need to get the right header to match the engine.

I had a Moki 180 on my Giant Edge.
This motor was marginal for pullout maneuvers.
Recommend the 210 if you want to stay with glow.

I now have a piped MVVS 215 (Gas) on my giant, and absolutely love it.
It's the way to go with these planes, IMO. (What I should have done in the first place)

He's been advertising that price for months on RCU. He must have just raised them.

OK. So, for the Yak 79", if I want to try gas instead of glow (seems the 160FX or Moki 2.1 is what you guys like for glow, right?), which MVVS gas would you go with? I like the MVVS 1.6, but sense it is not enough for this beast.

MVVS 2.15 for gas. Although Morris has a Mark 1.80 gas that supposed to spin a prop as fast as the MVVS 2.15.

Have you talked to Robert at Morris? He sells a lot of engines for OMP planes and knows exactly what you need. Give him a call and just tell him what is the best setup he's got right now. He's an ace with these motors and he has the best selection of motors for planes that fit OMP birds. Nice guy too!
