Default Gear Doors - Seperate Air Tank ? ?

If there is plenty of extra room inside the aircraft ..... and the plan is to use an electronic sequencer, is the preferred setup for a retract system that has landing gear doors to use a seperate/additional air tank for the door system ? ? i.e. ..... 2 air tanks, 2 air valves, and 2 servos (controlled by the sequencer). Again, space is not an issue .... plenty of room. Thanks. Bob

One air tank (high capacity) with a "T" for the two valves will be enough

Bob, If you have the room I would definitely go with 2 tanks. Granted you should check the air pressure before and after every flight. Also you have to consider the size of the airplane...a big 100" P-47 will not get as many cycles on 1 tank as will say a .60 size. Also, sure the doors...and here we are talking inner gear doors and maybe tailwheel door, or nose gear doors...don't need as much pressure to cycle them as do the main retracts. But as Javier says to go with 1 tank, this also has it's advantages, less connections and valves to fail. Either way is workable...just depends on how you look at things as to which is better for you.

If you have the room, why not go with a servo actuation for the doors? They work a lot more reliable and are not prone to leakages...besides costing about the same as all the valves, tubing and cylinders.
