RE: 3W 85 engine mount
Hi. Name's Ken(Starfighter). There is an aluminum mount available that will fit the 3W 85 - 106cc engines. It is available from
Chief Aircraft. Give them a call, ask for the R/C dept. and tell him you need their mount for the 3W. I think the mount costs avg. $69.00. This mount is designed for the H-9 acft, and uses the GT80 mount holes and comes with standoffs for the proper spacing. If you need more distance spacing, then all you have to do is go to your local hardware store for the washers, etc. you will use.
Also, when assembling these mounts from Chief, remember to use Threadlock, AND split lockwashers on all mount screws to ensure they don't loosen from vibration.
I have two(2) of these mounts in use, one on a 3W 85, and the other on a 3W 100, both engines are on H-9 planes, the 85 on the Cap 232, and the 100 on the Sukhoi SU-31. No problems with them at all.
