Wheel Pants
Hi All I'm building a plane that came with wheel pants.. I'd stayed away from wheel pants before, cause I really didn't know how to mount then, Now I'm ready to give them another try.. The landing gear is mounted on the fuselage..THe gear has one hole for the axle, and 2 smaller holes for the wheel pants.. Now what is the best/easies way to attached them..
Thanks Dan
Thanks Dan

RE: Wheel Pants
If I remember right, with my extra, the axle went through the wheelpants (have to cut down axle and put it in the pants with the wheel installed), and I glued a piece of light ply on the inside for the two screw holes. I used wood screws, and they kept it stablized. Good Luck, I found that they are more hassle than advantage, unless you fly off of pavement.

RE: Wheel Pants
SIG makes brackets to attach wheel pants. You epoxy them or bolt them to the wheel pants, then the bracket slides over the axle and gets a 4-40 screw/bolt tightened to secure them to the axle. I have used them on pants and fly off of a grass field with no problems.
