Check out my new Chopper
Heres a video ( that i got from ebay) of my new chopper http://www.metropolitanimports.com/heliindoors.mpeg
There doesn't seem to be a brand name for it on the box. There is only a number 4 with atomic circles going around it. Is there anyone here thats familiar with this chopper that could give me some useful advice

RE: Check out my new Chopper
It's a honey bee fixed pitch copter. I have one of those.
Very hard to hover, but cheap to repair when you crash it.
You'll want to straighten out those flypaddles before you fly it.
Mine overheats real easy. Since the weather is so warm, I've had to resort to flying it inside.
It's a tough little thing, but hard to fly. Good luck.

Go ahead and try the one you've got. I would suggest going to radd's school and go through that. Some of it doesn't apply to the honey bee you've got, but I used it with success. It should let you know if you really want to get into this hobby or not. Don't expect to hover right off the bat, but know that when you finally do hover it, it's a really good feeling.
Currently, I'm building a Trex 450XL. It's my second copter (after the honey bee FP).
I'm hooked.

RE: Check out my new Chopper
starguard,
I also have one (Honey Bee FP) that my grandson is learning to fly. He is 14, and has been piddling with it for a couple of weeks while visiting with us this summer (no previous heli experience). Last night, I moved the servo push rods to the hole closest to the servo shaft and put a 1200 mah 2-cell Lithium battery in it, then he got a 4 minute hover out of it in a 30 x 12 foot space. Beore that, his hovers were about 45 seconds or so. He's only gone through 3 tail blades, and 1 set of main blades so far in two weeks ... not bad. He's using the Gray $10 main blades from "gwsparts.com" (not www.gwsparts.com, there is no "www") which have been the toughest I've used so far, and work well.
I was flying it before I got my Hummingbird CP, so chin up ... it can be done.
Rick
P.S. Yeah, you need to fix those paddles ... they need to be parallel to the ground.

Yes, It's a Walkera 4.
Have a look at the gold sticker around the main motor. It looks like it says WALKERA.
They are hard to fly, but excellent as a trainer. Cheap to repair. Stick with it
I still fly mine, and keep buying more. And I have a nice AluSEF.
Look through this forum for flying tips and setup ideas.
They are a lot of fun to modify

Where would the best place be to find parts for it?

2mm carbon rod and 5mm carbon tube replace most of the structural parts. Available from many hobby shops.
You can buy parts from Ebay or just contact a place that sells them.

Looks like they could be brothers...
I used blade CP parts for my crashes so far (rear rotor and landing skid). Most LHS's have replacement parts if they carry the model.

RE: Check out my new Chopper
Many parts between the micro helis are interchangeable as they're all so very similar. Some of the things that aren't usually standard are things such as ball links and rotor head assemblies. Theres usually very minor differences in design, but enough to make it a nightmare trying to find parts that fit locally.
Things like tail booms, tail motor housings, landing skids, blades, etc. are all very very similar and usually interchangeable.
And yes, as oops stated, that is a Walkera #4 Dragonfly
Judging by the photos, in it's current condition, you're likely to fly that thing into a wall assuming it doesn't rip it's self to pieces during spool up
Go through and check all the screws and linkages, make sure the blades and paddles are aligned, etc. Theres alot of threads on these forums for setting up and configuring these little birds, just take your time and do things right and I think you will progress much swifter through the hobby.

RE: Check out my new Chopper
Someone recommended this one to me: http://www.modelrectifier.com/produc...b_Sky_Robo.asp
This is a SKY ROBO Chopper thats supposedly the easiest chopper on the market to fly. I know nothing of this chopper, but I AM considering buying this one to train on until I get a grrip on the Dragon #4. Anyone know anything of this Sky Robo Chopper?
