Carb Issues
I have the Thunder tiger .21 and I was having a hard time keeping the engine going. So I fiddled a bit and noticed that the throttle arm felt sticky. I took it apart, and you know the 2 'needles' ,Low Speed and the end of the throttle arm itself, Are they supposed to be alittle tight when inserted into eachother? Are they even supposed to insert? When I pull them apart, it seems like the needle moves freely, its only when you insert the LSN into the little throttle end that it feels jammed.
I also have a hard time keeping it running once I do get it running, either it takes off across my garage floor at mach speed, or it stalls. Even when disconnected from the servo so I know thats not the issue. Could the carb sticking ( if thats not supposed to happen) also make it run as I described?
I just got the truck used and am on the verge of taking it to the LHS before I wreck it. So if someone could offer some advice that would be great
Thanks in advance

RE: Carb Issues
Im not too sure on what your problem is. maybe the screw that holds the metal rod from the servo and the throttle arm onto the small post is way too tight.(the rod from the servo is connected to a pivot thingy which has a hole where the throttle arm connects to and a screw goes on top which holds that pivot thingy onto a small post.)(this will work only if you have a tmaxx, smaxx, and sportmaxx.) It may be to tight so the servo doesnt have enough torque to push the throttle arm which makes it stuck.

RE: Carb Issues
I understand what your saying, you mean the little "lock" screw that guides and holds the throttle "piston" in place. but thats not to tight. It seems to be right at the tip where the LSN and the throttle "piston" meet the needle inserts into the end of the piston like a mm or 2 and then when I try to pull it out there is resistance, then it 'pops' out of the end and moves freely. Are they supposed to "click" into eachother?

RE: Carb Issues
So I took the whole thing off of the engine and brought the Carb to work. What I have come to find out is that the low speed needle, when screwd to far in, "catches" on the Piston part of the throttle arm. So, am I screwing the LSN in to far? Or is there a malfunction at the junction??? lol

RE: Carb Issues
Just to update you guys who read this. I think I figured out that the LSN was screwd in to far, that made the female end of the throttle arm "piston" jam into the male end and therfore sticking to eachother alittle. After making the LSN flush with the carb case, it seems to feel pretty smooth. So I hope this was my issue, I didnt like my tuck shooting across my garage floor at mach speed...lol.. it intimidated me alot. I will try again tonight..
