Default Source of CUSHIONING Foam for transmitter

I'm doing a new field box and want to cushion my two transmitters . I'm looking for a block of decent cushioning foam for this application. I'd like to get the stuff that you see in gun cases and transmitter cases.

I have looked at upholstery supply places. It's too complicated to order a single hunk of foam. Packaging places like ULINE have it, but I have to buy it by the skid or pallet. Bad idea.

I am thinking about just butchering the next big chair or couch I come across, scalping off the upholstery and stealing away with the foam . There has to be a better idea.

I own and operate a computer/networking firm and I have more of this type of foam than I know what to do with. most of the computer components that I order come packed in this type of foam. in fact, after supplying all the members at our field with enough foam to last them well into their next lifetime, I've been throwing it away. check with your local computer shop and tell him your woes, my bet is that he'll just give it to you.

hope this helps
