How do I Repair "Spider" cracks in Fiberglass?
I squeezed too hard while starting my Kyosho Mustang. I cracked the surface layer of the thin fiberglass cowl. Does anyone know a magic trick for re-bonding that yellow surface layer short of sanding it out and refinishing?Thanx,

Ham-handed Fred....
....sorry, there's no magic cure for that one that I
know of. Sounds like you cracked the "gel-coat",
that is the paint that is sprayed into the mold
and then the glass is laid in. When the "part" is
pulled out of the mold....the finished paint-job is
already there, and after trimming....the part is
ready to go.
Unless you sand the cracks all the way down to
the fiberglass, and repaint the cowling with some
good epoxy type paint....the cracks will reappear.
If the cracks are really buggin' ya'....check on the
price of a replacement cowling.
