Just a reminder. Next weekend is the GSW in Waco TX.

Bring your off road cars or trucks for a little track action also.

I will have turbine waiver renewal and new turbine waiver apps at the jet rallly. There will be a notary on site from Wed. afternoon till Sunday.

A steak dinner will be served Friday night and Saturday night there will be a shrimp boil.. Both at the field.

Bob,
Thanks for the reminder. Unfortunately my turbine hasn't gotten back from PST yet so the ole R-54 won't be able to make it to Waco. Hope to see you down the line.

Hey All,

I'll be coming up with Sean for Thursday flying I hope but I need a favor from someone if they can. All the LHS don't stock 5% DF (23%oil) fuel anymore so I'm in a bind getting my hands on some for the rally. Is there anyone that can pick a couple gallsons up for me if their shops carry it and bring it to the meet. I would appreciate it a lot. Please email or message me if you can . If there is anyone from POWERMASTER Fuels reading this, please respond to my message I sent you yesterday.
Thanks so much.
Tim

For those of you that don't know. Tom Dodgen won't be at the SW this year. He had heart surgery the other day. They had to do a repair to the ascending aortic arch. He is still in ICU but doing OK. Had some internal bleeding yesterday but they got that under control. Expected to be in the hospital another 5 days or so if all goes well. Originally they thought they were going to have to replace a aortic valve in his heart but found out when they got in that the valve was OK and found this other problem. From what I had read about what the doctors did, the replacing of the valve was the lesser or the two evil.

9-6
Talked to Tom today. He is still ICU and quite a bit of pain today. He has been up most of the day and really tired this evening. Hopes to get out of the hospital by the weekend.

Tim, does it have to be Power Master?

If you find some one that has it in the Fort Worth area let me know and I'll pick it up, but I wont be there 'till Sunday.

Later,
David

Yep, next weekend

FYI Gas is plentiful around here. No lines Filled up a while ago for 2.81 gal. Gas came down about 8-10 cents yesterday and today.

Tim, did you get your df fuel?

Bob,
No luck on the fuel. I called Mikes in Dallas and every store in SA. no dice. I surely wish Powermaster will respond and allow me to pick some up. I would have ordered some in advance if I knew the plug was to be pulled on df fuel. oh well.

Does anyone coming to the Southwest have an extra gal or two of 5% df fuel. We have someone here is Austin trying to locate some so he can go to the SW.

Tim, Powermaster will not sell to the public. They protect their retail outlets.

I will be there next weekend sadly planeless. []
My Maverick went in today while practicing for the waiver. Tanks dried out after 4.5 minutes of flight while my coach was on base. That little sucker is mean when it looses thrust. The turbine and electronics are OK though.

Im bringing my checkbook, of course pending my wife.

Tim, I used to run Byron 5% Nitro, 20% oil on my BVM .91 and ran really good. Roys Toys in Hurst carries it.

You should give it a try, at least as a last resort.

See you all soon.

hey bro'

I use, well used to use, Omega 5% mixed with Klotz Super Techniplate. ran great and as a testament to its inherent rust proofing capability, my MDS .40 sat for roughly a year before I pulled her out and it ran like a swiss watch w/o a hint of bad bearings

any fuel will work in a pinch amigo, just add a bunch of oil, Klotz Super Techniplate always gave me awesome results.

c'ya in a few dayz

take care

buck

I think about the only companies making DF fuel now is Wildcat and Ritches

Dawn,

Thanks for responding, I had a problem running 10% in my engines so I need to stick with 5%. The stores actually have the PM 10/23% fuel in stock but no 5% anymore, I guess everyone uses the 10 now. What setup do you use the 10%? I was breaking conrods in my OS/dyn combo with 10% but not with 5%.
Thanks for the offer,
Tim

Tim,

We use it for BVM 91 and BVM Fans, we also ran the 5% in our OS91 many years ago,
the OS really likes 5% nitro better than 10 but can run on the 10%, something else must have
caused the conrods to break, I don't think 5% more nitro would do it.

Hi Dawn,
I don't think so either but I had an engine that ran fine with the 5% then I used 10% 2x and broke the rods 2x (couldn't believe it was the fuel % either), switched back to 5% and things are fine. and I spoke with Tom Cook about the problem and he agreed to stick with the 5% as the engine loading with the Os/dyn combo is tuned to using the 5%. He also mentioned people would "pit" their pistons on the OS with the higher nitro% over time. Go figure.

I think I have a gallon never opened of some type of Powermaster fuel. If it is DF fuel, I'll bring it and you can have it for free.

Also, if you attended the T-38 jet rally, I probably have your attendance plaque. ie, Kevin W, Mike J, Gregg and Paul B, Dan and Doug. Congratulations to Paul Bingham for getting the coveted Top Gun - Team America Pilot Award! [8D]

Will anyone besides Ronnie have a jet "in the market"? Need an airframe for 10-12lbs thrust (desperately)
Wanna get back in the air ASAP and get te waiver out of the way so I can fly whenever I can without depending on anyone.

Thanks.
