unknown 4x chaindrive
Gidday all..
I have a chain driven 4x with a bung gearbox.
Is anyone able to tell me what make it is? and if theres a website/support for the old girl ? she's been a fantastic car and i dont want to get rid of it. or if no support, is there a gearbox to change her to rear wheel only that i may be able to mod?
Any help guys and girls.....
Anthony
currently has an unlimited ESC and a DR Speed Motor. (wow)

Well it is a Kyosho, not sure which model though...
Try googling "kyosho chain driven buggy" and compare pics of the results to yours. You may just get lucky. If not, then there are enough people on this forum, there is a chance that a few of them will have the same model and be able to tell you about it.

Looks like an Optima from about the mid 80s. I still have one and you could buy a belt drive conversion for them. Actually, it's a pretty nice buggy for the time. Still have the manual and maybe the orig chain drive I think.

Also, If I 'member right, in your 1st pic on the left, pop off the funny looking cap on top. rotate the shaft and look for a set screw. I seem to remember that it would loosen and you'd lose drive.

One more thing. They were sold by Tower Hobbies. Contact them and see if parts are available. PM if I can help. I'm almost positive it's an Optima.
