Default Need new a-arms

I want to change my a-arms on my t-maxx. I dont know if I have a 2.5 are a .15 model. When I bought it there was a 2.5 motor but the motor had been changed. Is there any way o tell the difference between a .15 and a 2.5? Can I put 2.5 a-arms on a .15 tmaxx? Someone told me I can if I change all of them but I dont know if that is true.
Thanks, Mike

You should be able to. I think the 2.5 and the.15 are pretty much the same. Buy the whole aluminum upgrade kit. It comes with all the a arms and 2 shock towers. It will run you about $120.

i think you'll need to also get longer links. i don't know what they are called, but its the thin metal rod that connects from the hubs to the truck, and controls the steering upfront. i just measured both of my trucks for another post and the 2.5maxx's lower a arms are about 5.5inches and the .15maxx's are 4.75.

to answer the question, look on the lower suspension arm, if there are two shock mount positions, it's an old style, if there are 4 positions, it's new style, there's numerous ways to see differences, but that's the easiest to explain without pictures...

don't go with aluminum just because it looks cool, it's rarely needed and isn't as durable for the price.

even if you have a old version, new arms will bolt up to the old style and vise versa, the only difference is the turnbuckle length, and you don't have to do the whole thing at the same time, although it would be better to do at least the front or the back, not just random corners... and the front or back turnbuckles are different from eachother, but I don't remember the lengths...
