If your mixture settings are correct, and you drive mainly midrange, with some full throttle blasts, such as on a nice dirt track, it should never get over about 140 or 150... I have my HSN at 4 1/2 and my LSN at 2 1/8 on my 2.5R. Hope that give you an idea...

140-150 Seems awefully cold, is that F or C?
2.5 should likely be running in the 220-260 range imo, and you can run it till your receiver batteries die as long as it's showing good smoke and not getting too hot.

I had my tmaxx tuned. The hsn is set to 2and3/4. I dont know what they set the lsn to. It idles rough and runs for about one half hour before it shuts off. I then have to let it sit for 15 minutes to cool. Do u think I should change my settings?

1/2 hour seems like a good run time to me. if you where too lean, i think it would overheat much sooner than that. you could try riching up the needle a little. does your body give enough ventilation to allow cooling?

Shutting off after 30 min of running and having to cool for 15 min before it will start again are classic symptoms of overheating. I think you are running your hsn way too lean. If you keep running like this you will ruin your motor. When tuned properly you should be able to run for hours if you want.
Rather than trusting the tuning of your truck to others, you should really learn to do it yourself. You'll be far better off in the long run.
Here is a how to on your truck that covers a bunch of stuff you should know and goes into great detail on tuning the 2.5r.

For starters, just for fun, set your HSN to 4 1/2 and your LSN at 2 1/8, and let me know how it runs. It may have to warm up for a minute before it wants to scream... I let mine warm up while I put the body on it, cause I blow into the exhaust pressure hose with the throttle open to get the fuel to the carb befor the first start of the day. Cuts down on alot of cranking...

These settings dont work on my truck. I tried these settings and my truck barely went anywhere. I dont know if it was too much fuel for my truck or what.

Not to sound like gloom and doom but.......If you shut off from overheating then have to wait 15 minutes to restart and cannot get the engine to run at normal settings......well, it sounds like a worn piston and sleeve to me.
How old is the truck? How much fuel through the motor? What does the compression feel like? With the glow plug in and one finger turning the flywheel, can you turn the engine completely over? Has the truck ever been run w/o the air filter - even accidently for just a short time (like in a roll over)?

I tried those settings. I live in an area about 20feet above see level. The humidity is about 50-60 right now. These settings did not work.

These engines are usually good for 5 or more gallons of fuel but one going out at 2 gallons is not unheard of. Especially if overheating has been an issue.
I had one flip once and knock the air filter off. It only ran for about 30 seconds upside down but that was enough time to suck something in and ruin the piston and sleeve. That motor only had a bit more than a gallon through it.
You didn't say how the compression was. Did you check it? It might be worth tearing the motor down to check on the condition of the piston and sleeve. It's not hard to do, there are only about 12 screws or so to get one completely torn down. Take out the p/s and see how far up you can push the piston into the sleeve. You should not be able to push it all the way through. In fact, the pisto should stop at least 1/8" from the top of the sleeve. Any closer to the top and it's time to replace the p/s. If that's good you can seal the engine as you reassemble it in case the overheating problem is caused by an air leak.
