I put a couple of new parts on my Savage......a new head and a matching gas tank guard. I'm a little bit concerned about the head since it sticks up even farther than the stock part [X(] but I'm just not all that keen on purple.

I added big zip-ties to protect it a bit, but do you think it may be a problem, anyway?

Careful on your landings. I have seen a lot of pics of people with broken engine cases from landing and having that extended head put more pressure on the mounting bolts. The bigger head puts more leverage on the engine mount points when you land belly up.

How much did you pay for the head? Why not a ~$170 head that comes with a free engine below it? Nice fuel tank guard [sm=thumbup.gif]

not sure if this is true but i heard if u land hard enuff on ur cooling head it can bust the con rod!? can any1 verify?
