Default 3W-106 Prop for Break-In

Hello!

Is the 26x10 3W 2 Blade Prop a good choice for the Break-In time on the 106?

Thanks,

Perry

Its going to spin the snot out of that prop, get a 27x10 for break in and then a 28x10 afterwards.

I would use a 27x10, but I see you are probably at high altitude, and it seems in that situation guy are running a little smaller size and going for higher rpm.

Funny though, when the engine breaks in, you'll be able to spin a 26x10 3 blade!!!

Also, he is going to rip the 27x10 hard right out of the box.

We had a 28x10 Biela that was easy to rip on that engine...

26x10 wwaaaay too small, even for break-in.

PTS, are you running stock mufflers, cans or pipes?

On pipes! Use the 28x10!!!!!

But could you throw the 26x10 on and record the sound for us? That would be incredible!

You can probably get away with the 28x10 then since using pipes. For imac after broken in you will probably like a 29x10 mejzlik or fuchs best.

It would be cool to hear a 26x10 at 8250 RPM.

flyinrazrback --> Do you have the painted heads? Also, what were your inflight temps?

As far as props go, remember that most, if not all european props are shorter in inches than stated on the prop.
Some as much as .250" to .500" shorter.

Have a good weekend_bob

Is it louder than the 32x10 Prince prop on your 157?

3d, the mejzlik is loud due to the rpms, but not like a P tip, if you think the p tip on my 157 was loud, you should hear the 28x10 p tip on this 106, I bet it is 5x as loud as what you heard, and would honestly make you hold your ears, numerous people at the field complain.
