Default KMP knock-off GEE BEE GAS ENGINE?

I just purchased a GEE BEE with 71 " wing span. I had one last yr and had a OS 120 pumped motor on it. Was ok and would fly fine with the 120 os pumped. I had to add a bunch of lead to the nose so this time I think I'm going to put a 40cc gas engine on the front. Weight should work out perfect.

If you have flown one with a gasser on it let me know what you think!

Because it's wasn't purchased from KMP. No label on the package but same specs and design.

Ah, I see. I have seen this plane fly with the OS 120 FS and it was pretty good. The landing gear wire is very weak. so be aware.

I have already built one. I changed the landing gear with a better grade wire. There are some chnages I made and some more I will do this time. I had a 120 OS pumped motor in my last one I hit a bump in the runway and it lifted too soon and the tail droped and basicly it tip stalled. and smashed the front of the plane. I could repair it but it's cheaper and less hasstle to buy a new one. I really just looking for info on anyone who flew it with a Gas motor.

I have 3 of the GeeBee's flying now 1 KMP and 1 GP and 1 generic all flying with G26's which puts the weight where it is most needed! Please reinforce the landing gear on yours or you will forever be fighting it.

I used an RCV 120 swinging a 20 X 12 APC prop and put a brass spinner on it and it ballanced out fine. I also added robart (live) struts. I put all the servos up front and used pull pull on the rudder. It looked great flying around the pattern. For as bulbus as it looks, this thing really does fly nice.

I have a KMP GEEBEE ,I put a ST 2000 with on board glow and swinging a 3 bladed prop .Take off is no sweat just point it intoo the wind give it the gas give it a touch of rudder and away it goes, it flys like it is on rails but landing have allways been touchy .You have to put it straight down on the mains and plant the tail wheel or it bounces all over the place and ends up fliping over on its back.
