Default broken prop bolts

I had a prop strike on a 3w140, sheared off three bolts. I thought of using a left hand drill bit Thinking that when it torques up it would back out the dutchmans. Any ideas from you guys would be much appreciated. I havent tried anything yet.

Thanks
Gil

Default Broken bolts

It's easy if you have a puller for the hub..I use a small air powered 3/8 torque wrench to take the nut off, a 9/16 socket fits..With the air powered driver you don't have to hold the hub very tight to unscrew the nut..I made a puller fron a 3/4 thick piece of round steel, tapped in the center for a 3/8-24 bolt..The bolt pattern for the prop bolts is 1.330 , the hole size for the prop bolts is #9..
3w uses a form of Loctite on the hub taper, so it takes some heat to help the puller...Once the hub is off you can drill out the broken bolts from the back...Go slow, most of the time the bolt will unscrew without damaging the threads....A #21 drill works well for this.....Clean the old Loctite off the crank and the inside of the hub..
It's a good idea to remove the sensor before applying heat to the hub.....
If you warm up the hub before re installation no Loctite should be necessary.....

Thanks for the info rcing, what do you think about the left had bit, is it possible that this will work? I know that your method will work but if mine will work it could save me a lot of time. Give me your thoughts.
