what to choose
ok so my friend is getting back into paintball and he wants me to get back into it with him so we will make a team. i have a paintball gun now (smartparts impulse) that i am just useing it once in a while. i wanted to have a nitro car since i was like 10. now i know nitro cars are expensive to get into and paintball is too but when u go paintballing its like 60$$ for a night.
i know when i get my nitro car i will be running it almost every day basically i will be bashing somewhat but mostly driving around doing stuff.
i know the price of fuel and stuff but is there anything that i will have to replace like every few runs or what?
could u tell me what i would have to replace ever so often and the price.
and if u guys thought it would be cheaper to go wit paintball
P.S. i will prolly go paintballing every weekend
thats if i do not get a nitro car

RE: what to choose
It's simple..... if you always wanted one then get one. Yes it's going to be more expensive, but paintball stuff can get up there too. You will break things on a rc truck but for the most part the things that break are cheap to replace. You have been around here long enough to see what's involved with Nitro RC, but it sounds to me that you know what you want. You are just looking for someone to say get a Savage.
So, here you are......... get a savage.

RE: what to choose
i also do piantball and i love it....but running my car is just as fun. if i were you id try to do a little of both (thats what i do). as far as replaciing parts, if your not bashing parts prolly wont break as much, but if you are runnin it everyday that would be alot of money in gas! from my experience, the spur gear is the most replaced part.(about 4$) also, make sure your air filter is always clean, that has to cleaned and oiled about ever 5 runs, depending on where your runnin it. i really dont know what would be more expensive though. nitro cars can give your problems that cost 5$ or cost 145$.
hope that helped a little

RE: what to choose
Well i was realy into paintballing also but i slowly got out of it. After awhile i stoped going to the local field and just used it for shooting squirls. I just found it a big waste of money, like you said the cost of going everytime get high. Like around where i go it's like $80 for a case of 2000 paintballs and that doesn't realy last to long at all. I had a Tippmann 98 Custom with a 14" DYE ultralite barrel and a 20oz tank...i traded that for a Savage 25 it was a total steal for me as i see it lol....so if i was you i would go with the a Nitro R/C i find its alot cheaper.

RE: what to choose
Yes in the long run its an expensive hobby but you also said you would be spending 60$ a week on paintball, thats 240$ a month, 2880$ a year! I'd say thats a pretty good rc buget right there. As long as you stick to stock parts you will never spend that much unless your into jumping off 30ft cliffs or something. Stock parts are way cheaper and in the long run more durable so dont get caught up with the "bling factor" and you'll be fine for funds...
