Gyro for Corona
I was thinking of a Futaba GY240 but heard that it may be on the heavy side (perhaps heavy for a Piccolo but not a Corona?)
Any other suggestions?
Thanks,

Thanks for the reply. I think that the guy I was talking to was thinking Piccolo/Hornet.

Corona Batteries
The 2400 mah packs are so much more $. Would it be better to buy say 3 or 4 1900mah packs or do you get much more run time out of the 2400's? Hoverup looks to have 3000mah cells on his rig.
Thanks,
Kip

Kip - First, the GY 240, when lightened(case removed, potting compound removed and rewired with 32 AWG wiring is a perfect HH gyro for a Hornet or a Piccolo. I've got them on all my Hornets and my one lonely Picollo. The best bang for the buck on Corona batteries is the 7 cell CP 2400 Nicad. I'm running a Hacker BL and have been experimenting with 2600, 3000, and 3300 mah NiMh 8 cell packs. Too early to tell if it's worth the extra $$. I consistently get 8 1/2 to 9 min on the Cp 2400 nicad 7 cell pack (with the Hacker motor).

Corona general
Boyd,
Thanks, again for the battery advice. I'll likeley be putting up some questions here as I ignorantly stumble into the heli world.
PS...is "CP" a battery brand?

Take a look here (one of many sources)
http://www.eflightpacks.com/
select individual cells..
select CP series....
Shop around (Google search engine) and find the best buy. [url]http://www.batteriesamerica.com/ is another good source.
7 cell NiCad packs are good for the stock Fusion 7 or the standard brush motor upgrade that most folks switch to ( Kyosho Atomic Force) Tower Hobbies has the AF's at $19.99 last time I checked.

Batteries
It seems that this thread turned into a battery thread so I am going to add my suggestion on batteries. I just purchased 2 Sano CP-2400 packs from www.batterystation.com . For $70, I got 2 packs, 7 cells per pack, wrapped, soldered, and 14ga leads attached, and shipped. I order these on Tuesday and they arrived today (Friday). You can't got wrong and I heard so many good reviews about that company. Good luck.
P.s. I am using these packs in my Corona.

Which Hacker motor are you using in the Corona? Nice, clean looking installation.

Thanks for the kind words Tim. It's a Hacker C40 12s - a sweet sounding powerhouse. Sounds just like a gas turbine winding up. Nothing but fun after over 170 flights.
