B-17G Guillows 45" w/4 Hornets or Wasps???
Hello. What do you think about a Guillow's B-17G 45" w/s, 1/28 scale, with four .09 Hornets or .061 Wasps??? I like the Hornets better because of the rear exhaust. May overpower it? What is the smallest 4-stroker being made? That would sound awesome!!! I've got the plane, but it may not get built for some time due to the many other projects I've aquired. So I am in the planning stage, starting to pile up the parts to build into it.

I would think about .020's. Seems like anything larger would be to heavy, but just thinking, and that dont mean a lot from me sometimes. Keep the fun in it.

Been done. Couple a years ago at our swap meet a lady showed up with one with 4 cox .020's. Last year in a thread like this someone contacted me asking if it was for sale. Finally contacted the owner, but now I cant find the buyer. Aint that the way it goes!

02's. Or maybe 049's on TWO of the engines. 4 09s or 15s would be way to heavy...and you CAN have too much power, don't kid yourself.
I was reading a construction article from the seventies for a 54" Liberator...four 02s was plenty of power. I have fooled around with micro twins a bit, so take my word on this...

Easytiger, I am going to build a B24 from plans . The wing span is 60 inches, calls for four .020's. How in the world could someone get all four engines running? Mine will be electric, around 40 ounces. Any ideas on suitable engines?

Hi
A friend uses two 091´s (nearest to fuselage) and two dummies at the far of the wings on a Guillow´s B24.
It looks nice, is less complex, light and easy to operate.

That has to be the same plan I was looking at...
How to start all four? With a 1/2a electric starter, definitely. And CAREFULLY...a flooded engine will cost you a crank or rod. Ask me how many I went through learning that. Anybody got any spare 01 cranks?
Electric? I am definitely a NON-expert...I would ask on e-zone.

Hi!
Forget about the engines you mentioned ...they are too large and heavy!!!
Instead go electric ...there are some very powerfull electricmotors to choose from nowadays (Hacker for instance) that would easily pull this plane vertical with no hessitation and you might hover with it....
