I can't actually provide you with anything other than suggestions, but the Tamiya TL-01 chassis would be ideal for such a task. It's shaft driven, simple and tough as nails. Also extremely cheap. Stick a 19 turn motor in it (£15 ish if you hunt around) and run a manual speed control. You'll need some kind of protection on the sides (i'm sure you could fab something out of piping etc) but other than that it's bash ready. Knobbly tyres would also help.

What ideas have you got so far, and how much ££ are you willing to spend?

I think this is a thread hijack!

You will have much more success starting your own thread here http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/forumid_160/tt.htm

Good luck.
