Default Brison 2.4 or DA50?

Which engine would work out the best for my World Models P-51 GS miss america? It is suppose to be around 15lbs with a glow 1.6 or 1.8 engine. Would the DA50 be overkill?
Thanks,
Mike

If the plane is under 17 lbs, then the Brison 2.4 will be more than plenty.

both DA and the 2.4 will be over power!!!
especialy the DA50!

i have a H9 extra 260 27% with a B2.4 my friend have the same plane with a DA50.
the 2.4 is more than enough for 3D while the DA50 is extreemly over powered!![:@]

get a G38 or similar Gas engine.
unless u want to get 3D with P51...?!

enjoy...

My 18 lbs tow plane has lots of power reserve with a MVVS 2.15 and 18x10 or 20x8 prop

I know the zenoahs will be too heavy. The brison sounds like a better match (in the review they used a supertiger g2300 18x8 prop and it looked like it could have had a bit more power). I read somewhere that Brison will only replace your crankshaft 1 time, even though the warranty is 3 or 5 years??? Is this true, If so DA has my bid and I will under prop it to a 20x8.

Mike, under propping is not a good idea on the DA 50. If you adjust the mechanical stop on the engine maybe, but why under prop it? A 22x10 would be better.

Hi Aces,
I don't have any personal experience with the DA, but I do have a Brison 2.4 on a 20lb Pica 1/5th T28, and it's more than enough power. Our elevation is 4200 feet, and it's still more than enough motor. We're looking at a similar usage of your P51 and the T28.

I love the Brison, and have recently purchased a NIB Brison 2.6 for an 86" sport plane that should weigh about 17lbs.

Hope this helps.
Rob

Hello Everyone. DA50r -vs - 2.4 Brison.. This does not even make sense. It is not fair to the Brison.

DA50r is a 50cc engine.

Brison 2.4 is a 39cc engine.

You guys should be looking at the Brison 3.2. Which is 52cc.. That would make more sense.

Im just looking for a better motor for my p-51. It makes sense because DA doesnt sell a smaller motor. Should I be worried about crank issues with a brison?

why not!!!
give some respect to Brison!!

a 40cc that givs 4.2HP compare to a 50cc that givs 5hp
10cc difference and only 0.8hp as well???

think about that!

Gadix, Trust me I give many props to BRISON. I have 2 3.2's and 1 2.4. However, my 2.4 will not keep up with a DA50.. Not a chance! However, My 3.2 will!

Brison 2.4 will give you 4.2HP however, this does not compair to the DA power.. I do not fly DA but, my bud does and his 14 pound plane has ultimited performance. If this 14# plane had the Brison 2.4 it would not have anything close to the power of the DA.

Trust me..

I suggest that you get a DA and you will see.

In this size range there are others to consider too. ZDZ-40 and ZDZ-50 and they are coming out with a light weight 40cc motor soon. BME has their 55cc motor coming out soon. MVVS has a 45cc motor.
