Wheels falling off
I was out bashing yesterday, and a wheel fell off my Savage. No biggie. I found the nut and re-installed the wheel. I checked all of them at that point and a few minutes later, it fell off again. I got lucky again and found it. The same tank of fuel, and a few minutes later, it fell off again. Not so lucky this time, I lost the nut. Is it just the hex aluminum hub is too worn, or is the nut just not holding????? The hub doesn't look that bad, but it probably has 10 gallons of fuel on this truck. I tightened all the nuts as tight as possible without stripping them. What's the deal?

RE: Wheels falling off
The nylock nut has probably had it - after removing and reinstalling repeatedly it weakens the grip. Replace it with a new nylock, and if possible double up on wheel nuts (2 on each wheel). A dab of blue loctite will also make them a bit more secure.

Yeah, I'm too lazy and cheap to but new nuts, so I just plop a bit off blue loctite on when re-building after a clean

If it keeps happening the hex may have chewed the wheel out, if there is any play in the wheel where the hex sits its time for new wheels.

Also check the hex's that the outer edges aren't rounded. Even with new wheels, if the hex's are starting to wear, you'll stuff the new wheels too
