ignition engine for berkley cessna170?
what size gas ignition engine will fly my berkley cessna 170 70in w/s plane? was contril line along long time ago, thne converted to r/c plane is old i have recovered it and would like to convert it back to original control line but builder/owner has passed away so i cant find out what ignition engine he used, any thoughts

I do not know-mine was built in 1958 although was early r/c-had rudder control only-was built by my dad and is powered with a red head mccoy .35-there is a gentlemen by name of William kaminsky with Passtime Hobbies that is manufacturing a short kit of this model with updated instructions and plans for r/c use-I hope this helps

The Berkeley advertisement in MAN May 1956 lists the 170 as 72" wingspan (2" scale), for RC, FF, and PAA load. Suggests .25 to .35 engines. No mention of CL.
I would assume .35 to .45 sparkie.

I only read about this event, I was a kid flying CL at the time...did not pay much attention to the details.
