Pacific Areomodels 30 Tigermoth
I'm also interested to hear about this smaller model. I'm tossing up between this one and the Kyosho. Specs for the Kyosho:

i have one of the first ones. aug. 2001 is when i first flew it. mine is all yellow when i received the model from winner rc it had no instructions. after a phone call out west they told me they were working out the details but didn't have one in english. any way i got it together . the build is very good i powered it with a magnum 30 4c. this is a calm day flyer and is a little under powered with the 30 4c. with the limited power you have to keep on top of it when flying. but thats what makes this one fun and challenging. it mostly hangs from the ceiling in my rec. room ( it looks good there). i'll fly it may be next summer when calm. that remines me a had better cycle the batteries its been awhile. p.s. they say the little one flys like a trainer NO WAY. i don't think a beginner would be able to assemble it this is not afirst airplane.

i would say it is advanced to the point of second or third plane. the 30 4c is under powered to the point of slow climb outs. you have to dive some for a loop. wind really buffets the plane around. take offs require a fair amount of rudder. don't get me wrong i like flying the little plane. it also looks great on the ground and in the air. you just have to be paying attention when flying it. the landings are easy if calm but not up to trainer specs. maybe if you put in more power it would be easier. but then it would fly like every thing else. i think the real one did'nt have unlimited vertical ether.

I guess in particular I'm intrested in slow flight and stall characteristics. Many of the small planes seem to stall like a top. If this is just small plane behavior then so be it but there should be a design or setup change to minimize it. I fly helis most of the time and am looking for a small plane t hat looks good and is relatively easy to fly.

it dosn't snap when stalling and slow flight is good. maybe this is what your looking for it really is a great looking small plane. try it and let us know how it goes. what engine are you thinking about to power the tiger moth?

For power I was thinking of an OS20 that is just collecting dust. I'm sure performance will suffer but should be no worse than a 30FS. I think this one is on my shopping list for sure. Thanks for all the info.
