I've had both engines, almost the same power. Super tigre may have a tad more power due to its roller bearings. My 2 cents, return the LA if you can and get a ST45 or a Tower 46, for about the same money much better power.

Thats one idea, but i can't do that. i just woundering if this motor would be able to carry it? Also what would be a good prop selection.

That engine will be enough for your Fazer and a lot lighter than the ST so you may gain a small performance increase.
Put the biggest prop diameter you can with the shortest pitch. I'm tinking in a 11.5x4 APC like this:
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LX1564&P=0
Thats a good prop for that engine. What nitro fuel are you using?? Alttitude is very important too.
Anyhow try, experimentation is the name of the game.
Saludos.

PS Also try a Tower muffler for 46, can give you some RPM's extra.

The 46LA will work fine in your Fazer. Use a 12x4, 11.5x4, or something similar. You also might want to experiment with different brands of 12x4 props to see which one you like best.

Unfortunately, the bolt spacing on the Tower muffler doesn't match the bolt spacing on the 46LA.

(See the plane hovering in my avatar? It's a Stickit IV with a.........<insert drum roll here>..........46LA.)

That prop should be too much for the 46LA. But for sure wouldn't hurt try. My best advice is APC 11.5x4.
Let us know the outcome of your experiment.
Saludos.

Will your Fazer fly with a 12.25x3.75 or a MA 11x4? Yes!
Will these be the best prop choices for a 46LA in a Fazer? Probably not, which is why they weren't mentioned.

The 12.25x3.75 will probably be too much prop for a 46LA due to it's very wide blades.
The MA 11x4 is probably a little small for a 46LA since MA props tend to overstate the actual pitch.

The MA 12x4 would probably be my first choice for a 46LA in a Fazer, then experiment from there.
The Grish white 12x4 works good too. This is the prop I'm currently using in a 3D Spad that's powered by a 46LA.
The APC 11.5x4 and 12x4 are nearly identical in performance and should work OK on a 46LA.

My best advice is to borrow or buy one of each of these four props and test fly them to see which one you prefer.

It will bolt right up if you just take a 1/8" or 5/32" drill bit and drill out the holes in the engine case just a tiny bit. I did it last week. Can't remember the exact numbers, but I'm pretty sure the engine picked up about 400RPM with the APC 12.25x3.75 and also about 400RPM with a Zinger 12x4. It picked up 1500RPM with a MA 10x6 and also 1500RPM with a Top Flite 9x6.

Search the Glow Engines Forum for my thread OS 46LA Power Mods. The exact RPM data is in there.

If I can get the Tower muffler to bolt up--I can also bolt on a Macs black pipe from the OS 46FX. I'll do that tomorrow and post numbers if you guys wanna see them.

Rcpilet,
Thanks for the info about getting the Tower muffler to fit on a 46LA.
And yes, please post your results of the Macs muffler test.
