Default ROO 2 control horns

Hi everyone im new to jets and i am building a fibberclassics Roo 2
and the instructions say to use the novotex control horns suplied with the kit my fellow club members advised me not to use them
but instead make new horns from carbonfiber .
because they said the novotexs horns are to weak to use in a jet.
who can help me to figure out what to use .

manny thanks veertje

Default Horns

Hi Veertje,

I have never had a failure of the Novotex style of horns. I would use the Novotex instead of nylon. Carbon is probably overkill.

It sounds like the members of your club are trying to create problems where none exist. Are you the only (or first) turbine pilot in the club?

Been using the supplied FiberClassics horns for over 200 flights without problems. If you doubt the strength than duplicate the horn with 1 to 1.5mm carbon plate. Drill two or three 1/16 holes in the part of the horn that is imbedded in the control surface, sand with 80 grit paper and glue in place with Aeropoxy. The holes will give the glue some extra bite on the horn.

thanks for the advise .
And i am the second member of the club thats building the roo.
the people that advised me to make carbonfiber control horns
are not familiair with jets . and they were afraid it would break
because of the speed the roo would reach.
