RE: Capacitor cracked !!
mine cracked as well. Two of them. I have been flying with them cracked for the last couple weeks and I still have not had any problem when flying. If it doesn't have any problem or normal controle why replace it? Of course I have spare rotors as well.

RE: Capacitor cracked !!
A cracked cap. is a pretty big deal. They kill RF interference produced by the electric powered motor. You may get away with it for a while but sooner or later you WILL get a glitch. If your high enough, then maybe you'll recover before slamming into that hard stuff rushing up to meet your Draganfly. If you don't have any altitude, well you've seen the pictures. Remember, everything has it's purpose.

Hi. you can get the capacitors from any electronics supplier or model shop (probably more expensive) and yes you should replace broken caps ASAP.

I wouldn't fly till I replaced it. One radio glitch and that little 25 cent part could cost you a lot more. it shouldn't be hard to find, if you have Radio Shack stores or something like them they stock them. You can alway get them from spectrolutions they stock them and most of our parts now.

RE: Capacitor cracked !!
The other major problem with a cracked cap is that it can short out against the motor case, not a good thing!
I was told by DFI that flying with one missing cap (removed after cracking) is not that big a deal, especially at close range. 0.01 uf sounds right but I've been told the value isn't critical, so something close would work, too.

RE: Capacitor cracked !!
You're welcome, Dreddy...Someone else on this forum mentioned rotating the motors so the caps are inboard rather than outboard (make sure you observe the correct polarity when you resolder the motors), and using a dab of silicone sealant to cushion them. Since I'm down to one arm for several more weeks [:@], I haven't had a chance to try that yet...but I'm not flying either.

Thanks, Dreddy! Operation went smoothly; it's up to me now. At least they gave me some good drugs!
I wouldn't worry about changing the other caps...

RE: Capacitor cracked !!
Hi all!
Hey you guys. You dont have to turn the motors around, just flip the cap over! You might want to unsolder the motor wires so you can put the cap under the wires or they might get to a point where there too short. If you buy your motors from spectrolutions you will find that the wires to the cap are twice as long as from DFI. This makes it nice because you can just about put the cap anywhere you want.
