Turbine size for Eurosport ?
So what do you Eurosport owners recommend - I was looking at a 120 or 160 - the 120 appeals to me (economics). I want to have decent speed but don't need to be the fastest plane at the field (doubtful with that draggy airframe) however, a low 'n slow pass followed by a good vertical climb is a must. I don't want to waste $$ by overpowering it but at the same time it must have enough go.
I'd appreciate any feed back you guys have - this will be my second (3rd if you count the one I crashed [:@]) jet and I like the Eurosport because of the semi-scale looks and the way it flys!

i have a titan in mine, and when i point it up, it goes straight up., although fuel economy is poor, i also had one with a p-160 , i notice no difference personally between the 2, many fly with a p-120 , and love it, flight times with the p-120 will be longer for you. im dropping my gears at 6 min. more thrust is more fun with the euro.

I have just got my Eurosport in Jolly Rogers scheme. The paintwork is really good now and does not have the "painted in the mould look" apart from a few seams which can't be avoided. The model is going together very smoothly.
I will be powering mine with my new Merlin 160 Mk2, 38lbs thrust with better fuel economy than the equivalent Jetcat and the same weight as a P120. I thought about a 120 but decided that, at the same size and weight the Merlin would power any model I would ever want to build.
Remember you can turn down the rpm's to get less thrust and better fuel economy. For initial flights I will dial it down to 30lbs thrust.

Cheers John,
Looks like I will be chasing after you for build tips (again). I'm looking at the 170N from Digitech - looks like a really good deal and is apparently teh same engine with different electronics.

30LBS OF THRUST IS ALL YOU'LL EVER NEED. I powered mine with a Jet Central Super Eagle and LOVE it. 8 minute flights, all the vertical you can use! Though I do recommend using the intake liners, it definitely helps the speed, You'll be surprised how well it moves along.

As Sandor says you will need a bigger pipe for a 170N turbine. Sandor got mine to me four days after ordering at a good price.
Anyone want a Eurosport standard pipe, going cheap?

Actually I flew mine on a Jetcat P80 for about a year. Take off on grass can be a bit long winded and vertical performance is not indefinite. However it was very enjoyable. I now fly with a Jet Cetral Eagle, but you do swop performance for flight time. The lighter engine did give nice axial rolls at medium speed and was very realistic and easy to land. If you are not very experienced, I would give this option a trial. I feel that if you get to know a model with a little sedate flying you get a lot more satisfaction than a hole in the ground. If/ when you graduate to a Rhino, Merlin, Eagle etc. you will possibly agree that a big engine cut back is not easy as a small one busting its guts.
Best wishes.
