Default Different Carb for 3.3? Also Pro .15 tuning ?

Hi guys! Thanks for all the help in previous posts. Anyhow, I just put a 3.3 in my 2.5 T-Max. I really like it but I had an extra motor lying around, 2.5, that we are going to put in my brothers Pro .15. I know all about the adapter kit but the carb on it is stripped out at the HSN. I would really like to give him the good one off my 3.3 and get a better quality one for my truck. In pics they mostly all look the same for every motor. Is there a better carb out there that will work that will have a better housing? Has anyone tried another carb on a 2.5 or 3.3? I been all over numerous forums and search engines with no luck. Any help would be appreciated.

About his .15 engine, I have read all the online tutorials for tuning and watched all the videos I could find and do ok on my trucks but I cannot tune his truck worth a flip. It has no power at all. Will not hardly shift into second gear because it won't wind up. No low end power at all. If you give it gas, it just SLOWLY pulls off and will barely reach any speed at all. I know that it isn't as fast a either of my trucks but a friend had one and took the front drive shaft out and cuts donuts all over the blacktop with it. This thing will not pull up a 20% grade. It acts like everything is tuned WAY rich but leaning it doesn't seem to help and too far makes it run hot so I don't think that is the problem. I also cannot seem to get the idle to adjust to the recommended 1.5 mm. Idle screw turns in and out but seems like it doesn't go far enough in.

Thanks

As far as a carb for the new engine, if you can find a carb that's the same size of better quality it should work but, carbs for an OS,RB or Picco cost big money $50-$75 and I don't see it being worth it. If you want to get a 2.5 carb for the 1.5 (not sure if it will fit) just look on Ebay you can pick one up for $15-$20.

I'm kinda new but in my month or so of playing around with my well used t-maxx .15 and 2 rs4 2 (i bought used) found air leaks can have a large role in sucky performance. When I siliconed the back plates and carbs on the engines and changed exhaust gaskets the both ran cooler were easier to tune and more powerful. both still have leaks around the starter shaft bushing but i can start them in 3 or so pulls now and both will run a whole tank without overheating even though they have way less compresion than they should.Buying a new carb might not help I cooked a .15fe trying to lean for more power with an air leak leaning it even more, with a $10.00 tube of permatex ultrabule i saved the other 2 engines from a similar fate and am still enjoying them well past their expiry date.
