Look in the Yellow Pages for an industrial Plastics Supply place that has sheet plastic. The place I went to had all kinds of sheet plastic, including mylar. They had various size sheets, in different thicknesses and different colors.
When I told the guy I wanted only two sheets and what it was for he just gave it to me. You don't need it any thicker than .010". Drafting mylar is about .007". Unfortunately these guys are no longer in business.
