New ST Help
Please don't flame me, I tried to search but am looking for some more advice. I am new to RC and am looking for a stadium truck to bash around the yard(gravel, pine needles, dirt) and maybe eventually race. I am having a hard time picking between electric and nitro. Any suggestions and or pro's and cons? (I read the tutorial already). As far as what I have looked at so far in nitro models: HPI MT2 and EVO. Is there a big difference in the two? My price range for the ST itself is about $300-$350. Also should I look at the Associated RC10 GT or the T4? Any recomendations or other choices? The local Hobby store seemed to talk me out of the Traxxas Rustler nitro, but not the electric. I would like about 25-30 mph stock. I don't want to spend to much in case I don't enjoy it, but I want it fast enough to have fun with.
Thanks
Thanks

RE: New ST Help
Especially if you are new to rc , start with electric . Take a look at Team Losi`s XXX-t series trucks and Associated`s T4 trucks . They are both durable trucks and proven to be excellent racers , actually the best two available . If you don`t plan to race in the near future the electric rustler will be a good truck to play around the house with . The rustler would be a great first truck to see if you like the hobby and then later on if you like it and want to race you can move on to the ones I mentioned earlier . You can pick up a Rustler for around $150 , a descent charger $30-50 , and roughly $25-30 a battery pack to get started . If you like the hobby you can sell or keep the rustler and buy a race worthy truck if you want to race and you will already have a charger and some practice batteries . But for your first rc it should mainly be electric . I have seen too many people getting into the hobby starting with nitro and getting frustrated and end up getting out of the hobby . Just for the people that read this , there are exceptions to what I just stated so don`t get your panties in a bunch .

Thanks for the quick reply, It just seems like the nitro's are more fun to drive and an electric would get boring more quickly. How fast do the Team Losi`s XXX-t series trucks and Associated`s T4 trucks go stock?

RE: New ST Help
From what i know i have a electric buggy a savage 25 and a hopped up nitro evader...Personally i would pick the evader...with a little amount of work it will be a awesome truck..then things i reccomend with the evader is the alum. diff gear which is like 16 bucks..and a new servo which was 50 at my lhs ...the servo for the steering..thats really all you need for it to be a nice truck. then in a few months you want to race get a .12 and it will be agood racer...if i was in your position i would get the evader..if you dont want to do work to it wqhen you get it then get the RC10GT...very nice truck also
