Anybody with any information on DZY Petrol Engines ? Are they good ? Comes in 26cc and 48 cc Twin.

Go to china u might find what u need..futhermore why look for engine which is not even out in local market..there much more engine which out and tested and proven..and most important ...technical support......Hi Quality Hi Cost = Desert Aircraft or Hi Quality Low Cost = SPE26 or 40cc, CRRC, MVVS, or and any other engine u might think of.

Before I pack my bags for China, anybody else has any inkling about these DZY engines? They are available in NZ and Australia "local market" for $ 452 for the 26 and $ 602 for the 48 Twin. Weighing 2 lbs (incl muffler & ignitor ) and 3.4 lbs respectively.

Wonder how they size up in quality and value with likes of CRRCs and BCMAs.

Like I said here a while back, a pretty blue anodized case does not guarantee a good engine.

No, cheaper for me to stay here instead and get Scott to send me a new Brillelli 26 for my CMP YAK 54. Or maybe I should buy a SPE 26 from Spacewalker and get to go to Shanghai too.

These are YW engines. They look like nice little engines. Ask Terry at CH about them. I believe they have a 48 and it was a paint shaker for vibretion. He is TKG on RCU. They made a custom hub with a counter weight built in to smooth it out. He would know more about them that I do.

OOPs wrong engine
The Mod I YW 24 was the shaker, the Mod II is nice. The DZY copy is of the Mod III
The YW twins were nice after break-in.

why all the bad press about these motors! i have a YW 48cc twin and its a superb motor! {i bet most of the people slanging these motors have never owned one!!!} all i can say is there a bloody good motor !!! if i can get hold of another one i will!! most motors have there troubles look at the DA. zdz. and other makes on this site!

Its nice to see another country producing copies of modern designs. With South America, China, and Korea producing DA Knock-offs, we should soon have a good 50cc for under $300.

Why all the bad press, it's coming from the competition. These new engines are a real threat for the over priced engines and chainsaw conversions.

I saw these engines a few months back and did a little research on them. From what I read the folks in New Zealand and Europe really like them. Couldn't find any bad reports. Also couldn't find a US distributor. Twin 50s are supposed to be under-powered according to a lot of people but the one (3W) that I've seen fly sure looked like they had great power to me.

My Brand new Dzy 26cc has some movment in the prop shaft- up and down, and side ways. The engine has run 2 tanks. Shakes like Shakira...

Is it suposed to be slack? not unnormal that new engines shakes but..?

Hello all from sunny Glenville PA, USA. A post office and a two-pump gas station. My town.

I bought the DZY 48cc Twin from RC Guys (RC Guys.com) for aprox $475. It is a neat little twin, very well made. Tight. Has 4 ball bearings on shaft. Cyls look to be chrome plated. Two rings per piston, so a bit of ring drag is normal. Motor fired right up with under 10 flips for its first run. Used a 20 x 8 prop. Ran it for 5 hours to break in. Turns aprox 7,100 RPM with the 3W 20 x 8 wood prop. Turns with good authority. A mizer on fuel and the ignition module is one of the best as far as battery drain goes. Ran over 2 hours using a 1,200 MAH nimh battery. Excellent throttle response, very low vibration.

RC Guys has a Fly RC engine review of the twin on their site.

Support is always an issue, but RC Guys can get parts. I ordered an extra ring and gasket set and got that no problem. RC Guys are nice folks to deal with.

So, I give this one a thumbs up.

Walt, that's great to hear beacause I bought a new DZY 48cc twin and having a source for parts is always a concern of mine.

I have not yet run the engine, it is mounted on my GP 1/3 pitts ARF waiting for nice weather and calm winds.

good to hear of your success with this twin,I bought one too,and nothing but problems getting it to run ,I set the needle valve2 turns each,finally started but seems to heat up and quit.then runs for awhile at somewhat idle speed when I try to advance throttle it sags and then seems to run out of fuel.I have tried needle valve settings as per the manual,no joy,checked all fittings for air leaks,all seems good.I also have a dl50 and it runs like a clock.I don,t know

Where and when did you get your engine? It looks like the crankcase is painted or anodized. It's good to see the case protected from corrosion. I'm tring to decide between this engine and the LSPro 50.

Does the engine fit completely within the Pitts cowl with the plug wires installed?

You need to read the manual. For initial setting is states the low end Needle valve (closest to the engine) is 1 1/2 turns and the high (at the bottom) is 1 turn. This should get you started on the rich side. 25:1 on the mixture for break and 50:1 after a couple of gallons. They recommend a petroleum based oil like Cool Power CP-07 2 cycle racing oil.
