Default Which Muffler for OS 1.60FX??

I need a muffler for my OS 1.60FX and was wondering which muffler would be the best. It is going in a Sig Cap 231EX. I was thinking either the Slimlime or Bisson pitts style?? Anyone have any experience with either engine/muffler combo? Why is the Slimline so much more expensive? Any info would be very helpful!!

Thanks,
Tony Gagliardi Jr.

I use the BCM and a buddy uses the SlimLine. Both work good.

Is the slimline louder than the Bisson?

Maybe a little, but not a real big difference.

By the way, BCM makes a BAFFLED version of the MOKI 2.1 muffler. If noise is a consideration, ask 'em if they have a baffled muffler that fits the OS 1.60.

FWIW, BCM claims a 2-3 db reduction w/ neglible power decrease.

HogCrewChief,
I have a used BCM Pitts muffler for the OS160FX, and the engine/muffler were in a Sig Cap231EX. The muffler has been modified, so you don's have to cut the unsightly triangle hole in the cowl. I can send pictures of muffler to show the modifiication and overall condition. I am selling this muffler, or trading for the stock OS muffler if you have it. Let me know.

Default BCM

This is a stupid question, is "BCM" the Bisson Pitts style muffler? Thanks for all the advice.

Hey Tony,
I had a OS160fx w/Slimline. Sounds great! I also liked the feature of having additional support going from the muffler to the engine mount lugs, much more support. I also nosed mine in pretty good, on the muffler, and hardly bent it.

Happy Flyn'

Justin
