Default Upgrade from DF III/IV to a DF V Ti

Some questions....

Anyone upgrade there board from a DF III or DF IV to the newest version DF V Ti?

Any fly a DF III/IV and then try a DF V? Notice a big difference in the flite?

Did the Heading Hold Gyro work better then the stock pizo?

Is the Throttle smoother as they say?

did you notice the motors run slightly cooler because the increased the switching rate on ESC?

did you get Longer run times with the same lipo?

I have a DF III and want to Upgrade to a DF V Ti, not sure it is worth it... I don't care about the Ti Feature on the new board.. so is the rest of the stuff make it worth the money?

thanks for any info.....

I thought you were getting a DF with Ti. If you didn't, you don't know what you're missing. You will not get much, if any, usable video flying without Ti and your flights will not be as smooth. The difference of flying with and without is very significant.

Hmm, Not really interested in Ti, sionce most of my flights are in areas with trees around, I will not be able to use it much. I am not concerned with flight performace.

I replaced all my motors and they just don't seem to be very powerful and also the DF likes to rotate either left or right slowly over the entire, flight, it is never locked oh. even if I trim it it still does this over time. So is the HH gyro worth it?

Does the smoother throttle allow for more power? Is the higher switching rate giving better motor life and pref.

I am more concerned with this, then Ti, which I can not use all the time.

Yes, both of mine occassionally slightly drift to the left but it is easily fixed with a couple of clicks on the trim. One or more motors could be weakening and/or the yaw gyro could going bad to cause a drift problem. I don't understand what you are asking about horizontal hold as related to the DF. I only know what the DF V has which is 3 gyros, one for each axis.

The DF III and DF IV, Both have 3 gyros, they are standard pizo gyros, nothing fancy,

the New DF V, has 3 Gyros that are Heading hold. meaning, there should be ZERO drift over the course of the flight.

SO I was looking for someone who has flown DF III or IV and then tried the new DF V with heading hold gyro.

Was there a difference noticeable in the flight?

All in all I am trying to see if it is worth it for me to spend $300 to get a board upgrade. So far I like the higher switching ESC rate and HH gyros... but $300 is alot to pay for those two features, so I wanted some feedback...
