I had not problem with the stock ones...but it would be safe to assume titanium ones would bend less often, if you're having them bend on you often...

I've got the Lunsford turnbuckle set, but I didn't want to upgrade the hinge pins until I also make some stronger braces for them. I've ripped three of the stock aluminum front braces apart but it's only bent one pin doing it.
The turnbuckles are more than worth their price just so you don't have to remove anything to adjust the toe settings. You basically get the weight of aluminum along with the strength of steel by using titanium, so I went with the Lunsford kit.

I have bent one hinge pin in 2 years but I have broken at least a half dozen of the aluminum braces. I got some carbon fiber ones and have yet to break those. I'd say the stock pins a pretty good. It took a major crash to bend that pin and even then it only bent it a tiny bit.

i mean are they worth it for decreasing the overall weight for the truck? i just dont want it to be heavyer than stock because i added a steel spur, 3-spd., and other heavy duty stuff.

Are they worth it just for the weight savings? If you have "extra" upgrade money laying around, then yes, when you also consider the other benefits. If this purchase would keep you from doing some other needed mod, then no.

I do not think it will make enough difference in weight to be cost affective. With a steel spur it is not only the weight of it but also the rotating weight. Making the truck lighter will not help with rotating weight.

will the hpi titanium drive shaft help? (i cant get the other titanium shafts because i have a 3spd. and a reverse) i also want to make the truck lighter because a lighter truck has less stress on the drivetrain under hard acceloration.

Although I have bent stock pins before and went with Titanium Pins with no worries afterwards. I wou;d not spend the duckets if you are not a serious FLYER/Basher. It's like with full scale Monster Trucks... If you land on 4's you will break something. If you land 1,2,3,4 and distribute the landing with no throttle.......... you run away..
I myself put all my Rc's through hell and back... I can race, and I can pull a backflip to a front flip 20 feet in the air. I like air... I just got an XTM XT Deluxe and the thing has been higher than anything else I ever owned, and has broken nothing..
Where I am going with this is........ It's all in HOW YOU DRIVE your investment. It all depends on the way handle air...
If you are breaking/bending Savage Hinge Pins then you are having some serious fun as I did when i bent mine. Funny thing is............MOST people do not know they bent a pin UNTIL they clean the truck. Without the shocks installed. the arms should float up & down with NO hesitation. They should just drop if you pick them up and let go.
I will say this.........
If you are getting 15 + foot air, then stick with stockers. Titanium is strong but not in anyway BASH PROOF. Stockers can be bought and stockpiled from Ebay.....

yea im very very very very careful with my car and truck. i never break these pins i just thought the titanium would make it lighter. just in case i somehow bend 1 i will keep them steel so that i can easely replace them withought spending a load of money. i just bought a titanium drive shaft, titanium turnbuckles, and titanium upper arm turnbuckles. that should make it a little more durable and a little lighter. i was excited so i got express shipping
