Im pretty sure BV still sells these units new and they can still repair damaged ones if its economical. You can also use their newer all metal nose retract unit. I have a Rhom all metal "Jet" nose gear on my BVM F-86. The newer BV all metal unit is basically the same unit or nearly the same as the Rhom units. That should give you plenty of options.

The part number for the older style carbon fibre reinforced nose gear unit is 5251. Price is around $22.00 to $25.00. If you would like to upgrade to the all aluminum rotating nosegear with the built-in cylinder, order P/N 5375. Price is around $200.00.
You can also add aluminum retract frames to your old style main gear units for around $50.00.....order P/N 5272. You won't have any more broken frames.
Aluamainum nosegear flex arms are P/N 5573...Price is around $30.00.
The upgrade to the new style units will set you back around $450.00 for all three units....

I think you are quoting just the frame. I want the complete retrac, i dont think i have room for the new style with the piston mounted on the frame. I guess i could send the old one to bvm for repair and upgrade?? is that practical ?? V..

Yes, I'm quoting just the frame.
If you take your time, you can replace the frame yourself, saving a few bucks. They sell the parts, because the repair is not that hard to do.
