irvine 53 vrs os 50 ?
im looking to set up another 40 sized profile , so is the new irvine 53 (not made in england?) still a good choice or should a person concider os50 , or say the cheaper super tiger 51?????.....just looking to try something different ..i have the os 46/tower pipe , ys 63, and the saito 82, but always fall back on my mojo with the 46............if the modern irvine is still a good choice, where would i get one .....thanks ...jeff

Not on your list, but I suggest the Enya 50SS. It is lighter and less expensive than the OS 50SX. I'm running one on my Burrito and it gives lots of power for pulling out of a hover. They are ringed with a steel (meehanite?) sleeve, so they will last a long time.

RE: irvine 53 vrs os 50 ?
I went with a Webra 50. Stooopid power. Drag raced a Mojo with a Satio 82 and it was a tie.
With a APC 12.25-3.75 you have to work the throttle a bit in a hover or you can do some throttle curve. With a APC 13-4W real easy to hover, however you give up some pop out power. You still have plenty of power.
If you want to go different If I were to buy a new 50 size motor I would do the new OS 50 Hyper. Put an Ultra Thrust muffler on it WOO HOOO, however the bearing will last a short time. Drop some Boca's in it and it would be pretty trick.

Check out that puppy!
Yea, its a heli motor and for 3D they are what you want. They are designed to run in the mid range. The heat sink will keep it running cool in hovers and 3D stuff.
I have done a couple of OS heli motors on planes and they work great! Except for the bearings.
