WARNING MVVS RECALL
The latest batch of MVVS 58 engines have been recalled by my supplier due to a crank fault, this is in addition to the incorrect magnet position on the latest batch of 58's with the automatic choke.

RE: WARNING MVVS RECALL
Mike,
There were 13 engines made, which included the wrong ignition type.
The other engine's ignition would have needed the magnets placed so.
8 engines have already been located. the remaining will also soon and all will be set right at the manufacturer's expense.

Thanks for that, but note that my engine has been re-called for a Crank Fault nothing to do with the ignition, thought I would get that clear.

RE: WARNING MVVS RECALL
Mike,
I don't wish to seem argumentative, but an incorrect magnet position is a crankshaft fault.
The magnets that control the relative ignition timing are differently placed on the front of the crankshaft, in different engines.
I have not had the 'pleasure' of having sold such an engine, so I am relaying to you MVVS' reply to my inquiry.
After all, I am the focal point in this forum.

On the MVVS 58 Pro the magnets are on the Prop drive hub not on the Crankshaft, the hub with the incorrect magnet positions was sent back earlier, they had received it and acknoledged receipt, it was only after that they contacted me and said that MVVS had identified a Crank fault and that the needed the engine back to change the crankshaft.
Hope that is now clear.

OK, Mike.
Acknowledged. The drive hubs are different for the standard 58 cc engine and for the ProSport.
So are the crankshafts themselves.
MVVS wouldn't entrust each and every one of their customers with the replacement of a crankshaft, although there are some than can do it successfully.
The problem was initially diagnosed in error.
You will eventually have your engine running properly.
