Default FRAGED MOTOR! pics *

they dont match... i tryed posting this when i was on mod list but no one ever took a look to accepting it. but here it is now. i used a hot plug on the F-4.1 and it was all good then i notised some metal shaveings on the top of the glow plug and it wouldnt fire up. the glow plugs eliment was missing and well. i found what it did[:@] part of the eliment was cought betwen the port and the piston the shaveing passed but the ding in the port did not. it kept running but wouldnt idle right. it actuly still ran fine at WOT but lower RPMs it just died..
RIP F4.1

i got a mach 427 now in it and a new losi clutch kit on its way wensday

I was told if you if you run 30% or higher you should run a colder plug, at 20% i was told to run a hot plug in a big block, MC 59 or the likes of it OS #3. Its also based on tempiture outside for some, cold weather hot plug, hot weather colder plug. Please don't trust me on this. affordablenitrotech.com has a chart on what you should run. I tried running a cool and a medium range plug in my SH .28 and it ran horrible. I now run a OS 3, and it runs great.

good luck

looks cool tho im probly going to rebuild it. it only had HALF A GALLON ON IT!! thats the sucky part.. the bearings were fine cause if any of those metal shaveings got in it the motor is toast and i probly would just sell the parts alone on ebay for cheap to make back a few $ but the iner bearings seam fine so i might take my chances and just buy a new piston sleave and break it in and box it up as a replacement for my mach 427. if it ever goes down

If you are talking about an OS A3 that is the hottest plug OS makes. Personally you will never catch me running that plug in one of my big blocks.

Changing the heat range of a glow plug changes the timing and if you are not careful you can do just like the person that started this thread did.

uhh no i wrecked the sleave to get it out i used a flat head screwdriver and bent the port up even more but it was toast to beginin with so i didnt care. use the lock of the zip tie and put it in the port so its flush with the crank case wall and turn the flywheel over till it hits it and hopefully it will push the sleave out

Mine is stuck in my old .25 too.

I got bored and started stripping it down for modding the other night and ran into a deadend with the sleeve removal.
