Default Are we sure a DF can't do rolls?

Hi All,

This post is stemming from my recent crash. Now I could very well be wrong, but while flying my DF about 20 feet off the ground while standing about 30 feet away I noticed my DF suddenly flip upside down like two motors on one side had just stopped working. I had no idea what to do so I quickly pushed the right control stick left or right (I don't even remember which way). Well the DF then flipped back around about a foot from the ground and actually had an ok landing in the grass. My jaw dropped at the site. Five minutes later when my DF flipped again, I wasn't soo lucky as it slammed straight into the ground. Now its off for repair.

My question is what prevents us from doing a quick roll with our DFs? If two motors were nearly turned off and the other two on full, shouldn't the DF do exactly as it appeared mine did the first time above? Just curious if anyone has intentionally tried this. I realize the DF is goig to fall a little ways while rolling but it seems like it could then recover.

Mike at Spectrolutions said that he has looped the DF, without Ti of course.

Thanks SkyHigh. I still say mine did with the Ti enabled but I think it was some sort of glitch. Hopefully I get mine back from Spectrolutions this week.

Hey Stro, I say go for it and let us know how it works. Of course Mike is a better pilot and most of us and has spares to play with in case of a crash...

Yikes. I believe after my crash I am going to be much more careful. I don't plan on flying at night anymore for a while, especially not during sunset or right after. I also still need to get NAV lights before I should be flying at night anyhow. It sucks havin nothing to play with but a 30.00 PiccoZ while my DF gets fixed.

I haven't heard anything from Mike which scares me a little. He should have received my DF last Wednesday and he hasn't responded to my email or accepted my PayPal payment..... Maybe he is just a really busy guy I suppose.
