Default Glue plastic to wood

Would one use CA or epoxy to adhere plastic to a piece of wood, it needs to be very strong bond, it is part of my tailwheel assembly. Any ideas. Thanx!!!!

It may depend on what type of plastic. CA bonds well to ABS plastic and should hold it to wood nicely. If it's smooth plastic, I wouldn't trust epoxy getting a good bite on it. Another glue that is great in all kinds of applications is Plumber's Goop. Another name of similar glue is Zap-a-dap-a-goo II. This stuff is tuff, holds extremely well and yet can be removed by pulling it off with a firm grip. It stretches as it comes off and comes off completely clean. I use it to mount servos all the time and never had one come loose. To remove the servo I have to pry some with a screwdriver until it starts to let loose. It is normally applied like a contact adhesive. Put some on both surfaces and let dry for a few minutes and then press them together. It stays like hard rubber after curing overnight. It starts setting up in a few minutes and can be handled in a half hour or so. It's wild stuff. Goop has amazing bite on even a smooth plastic surface, yet can be pulled off without a trace.

p.s. Goop will eat polystyrene foams and such, so I wouldn't use it on foamies. [sm=wink_smile.gif]

G'day Mate,
Why not screw it on, works for me, everytime. Obviously use small self tappers & stiffen the wood, after you drill the holes, for the screws, with a drop of thin CA.

Polyurethane glue would excel in an application like this.

If you use urethane glue, don't forget to firmly clamp the parts together or the expanding foaming action will push them apart. Don't forget to wet the parts with some water to get the curing process started. alan0899 has a good point. If you're just mounting the whole tail wheel assembly to the fuse, using screws would be the norm. Hey Robotech, that link is pretty cool. I see my Goop suggestion for plastic to wood came up first. Cool.
