My T-maxx will not turn correct!
Hello,
I am hoping that someone can help me out with my problem. I have a Traxxas 2.5 T-maxx and its almost all integy aluminum. I was running it today for the first time and the steering was malfunctioning. I was turning the wheels left, they were turning left, but my car wanted to go straight or maybe even a little right! I'm thinking that the right wheel is getting more power than the left wheel! I don't know whats wrong with the steering so please help.
Thanks,
JR Racer

I am pretty sure that its an aftermarket but I dont know for sure. I am new to rc cars, not the whole rc world, just rc cars. Also I am pretty sure its in alignment.

Ya a week servo saver can cause it not to center that quickly. Maybe you need to just adjust the steering trim on your radio(that's what usually happens).
Sounds like it needs adjusting in the steering linkages/trim still.
The best place to adjust your trim for the steering is on a flat cement area.

Simple but not the proper way.
First, does it steer properly when not on the ground and have problems when it is on the ground? Possible servo saver is shot.
2nd Center the servo. Turn RX and TX on, leave motor off. Set TX trim to 0, remove the screw on the servo horn, center the servo horn so it is as close as possible to straigh ahead. Reinstall the screw and do the fine adjustment with the trim on the TX.
3rd if that is not fixing the issue you could have the pivot balls to tight, turnbuckles could be binding or bearings on bellcranks are dirty or shot.

I dont think that the servo saver is the problem. Im pretty sure that its the differential. The wheels turn fine, even when the car is in motion, but the car wants to go straight when the wheels are turned! I dont know if the differential is the problem or not, but I'm pretty sure it is.

Also it only happens when the car is being turned left. Other than that it does fine to the best of my knowledge!

That's wierd if the wheels are turned and it still wants to go straight. That can't be possible or can it.[sm=confused.gif]

try new batts.... or swap the steering/throtle servo around for a run and see what that doesn for the steering, just watch the throtle!
but not to high jack this thread but, i am having a problem with my steering also...
there is a lot, i mean alot, of play in mine, i have a futaba 3305(i think) its the one with metal gears, with a proline performance steering kit, and 40 series wheels and tires... the proline kit has a servo saver on it, i have turned that all the way in so it doesnt move and tried the stock servo saver and just a straight servo arm.... i have tried everything that i thought of to try.
has anyone had this problem, or know what it could be?

I dont know why there would be so much play in the steering... When you say play you mean that the wheel wobbles? If not you will have to explain it further.

well it doesnt wobble... it turns left and right when i dont want it to...
i think i am going to pull the servo apart and see how the gears inside mesh together, thats about the only thing i can really come up with
