Funny
We were all in the tent at Superman standing around. A guy came in and told us he had a bad crash motor. We started telling stories about some bad crash motors, and this guy kept saying his was worse.
He brought it out, and he was right. Worse one I have seen that did not burn
Bob had a program to replace any damaged motor and get a 25% credit if you return everything. That is what this guy did.

The Best of the Worst
The owner of this motor, my long time jet flying partner, is none other than Dave Elsinger of Fond du Lac, WI. He has no internet access on weekends, but will be very happy to see his motor, sad as it is, making a thread post on RCU, when he hits the office on Monday morning!!
He and I both lost HotSpots last spring. His went in vertical at high mach number, and mine went in 45 nose down, thru a barbed wire fence. Both of us had radio failures---never before and none since. Probably somehow related to batteries or switch.
Mine was salvageable. We took a long look at Dave's(about 10 seconds)----> He decided to go with Bob's generous rebate.

There is a certain Mississippi Gang member that has that engines twin brother. Out of a full throttle split S he nailed a tree about 20' off the ground. (Dead Canetered the sucka) the engine was found some 300 or so feet away from the initial impact. It looks every bit as bad as that one.

Of course some of Tim's more stellar landings have been caught on tape! Top Gun 2001 the F-4 doing the nose slide landings.... and the Bandit that nails the camera stand almost knocking the camera man off of it. Can I take lessons???
