40 size pitts challenger
Currently building this plane...How does it fly? any bad habits? I am putting a saito 65 in mine, maybe a little overkill. What servoes are recommended for the ailerons? Standards won't fit. I use futaba gear.

I believe it calls for Minis.
However pull out a ruler and measure before you order some servos.
There is a lot of variance on the servo sizes. Some minis are much larger than others.
You can save yourself a lot of hassles if you purchase servos that are slightly smaller than the openings.
The plane calls for a .40-.46 2 stroke so the .60 Saito will produce LESS power than a typical 1.7bHp .46 2 stroke engine. In other words, you will NOT be overpowering the plane with this engine.
You could easily go to a .70+ 4 stroke and still be safe.

RE: 40 size pitts challenger
Any idea on what minis would be durable enough for this use? Actually when I got the kit it is rated for a 32 2 stroke and 52 4 stroke with big warnings about over powering.

It's a .40 ARF.
All of NP's .40 kits for the most part can deal with the entire .40 range of engines... hence the .40 designation.
A .60 4 stroke is not about to overpower it, because of the lower power output of the 4 stroke engines compared to the 2 stokers.
Re: Minis
I am putting in the HiTech High Torque MG Mini servos, though the standards should also be fine.
I know I will be forced to shave off a bit of balsa though.
NP sells basically Tower Pro servos, which I have not had any problems with to date....
I haven't tried their minis though.
