Painting Monokote for fuel protection??
Am finishing up two new planes, and am wondering if it would be a good idea to spray paint the tail surfaces with clear fuel proof paint to protect the trim from getting loose from fuel exposure. Have tested it on an older plane and the finish does not look quite as clear and shiny as unpainted. Any other suggestions??

RE: Painting Monokote for fuel protection??
Thanks DS- Are you retired from Goldberg??(or is that another CG). I tried using some clear finger nail polish on the edges of an older model, but it did not work well at all. Just thought spraying with fuel proof clear coat on a new model might be easier and better, but will use the thinned epoxy you recommend. Thanks again.

Clear fingernail polish. Paint it on very thinly over the seam. Like 1/16" or 1/32". Thin with acetone with just 1 or 2 drops in a bottle. Too thin and it gets like water and VERY hard to work with.
Or, use monokote trim solvent on your seams. Brush it on with a little 1/16" paintbrush.
