Cautionary verse: Checketh thy T/I switch before thee taketh flight!
Oops. [:@]
So I'm at the park, it's a bit windy, but I get nice two-LED TI calibration and the wind's not that bad, so I decide to fly...Shortly after take-off, I know I'm in trouble, but can't figure out what the heck is going on. A harrowing 15 seconds later, I'm on the ground with a broken motor mount (and no other damage as far as I can tell; I haven't repaired the motor mount yet).
The culprit? I accidentally had TI turned off at the transmitter! I've been experimenting a bit with TI-disabled flight and I'm getting a tad better at it (but not good yet), but if you think TI is enabled when it's not, it can get confusing very quickly! I had pre-flighted, INCLUDING checking the TI switch, at a park bench/table and then walked several yards to a big field to fly. I was carrying my DF, my transmitter and a LiPo sack with a few batteries in it (those LiPo sacks are great for piece of mind, check out [link=http://www.liposack.com]www.liposack.com[/link]). While walking, I must have bumped the TI switch and didn't notice.
Like I said, oops! Fortunately it wasn't too expensive an oops, but still rather embarrassing...

I did pretty much the same thing once. Near the end of a really good flight, I switched TI off on the transmitter to practice flying without it for awhile. Next flight, I thought I was flying with TI but had forgotten to turn the switch on the transmitter back on. Took off, and the DF was really skittish like it always is with TI off. It suddenly veered off and when I let go of the sticks to let it stabilize it just flew right into the ground. I broke an arm and I think a motor mount. Boy, did I ever feel stupid when I noticed that TI was turned off. Now I go though a mental checklist before every flight to make sure I don't make any more of those expensive and stupid mistakes.

Yep, I did that once...........once! As soon as I lifted off, I pitched forward to climb out and then eased off to level out but it just kept going at more than a 45 degree angle. [X(] Luckily I was able to think fast and hit the Ti switch before mowing the lawn. I now always keep my finger pressed against that switch to prevent it from being accidentally hit.

I double check everything now before take off. Even when I feel lazy (which is all the time), I say to myself "don't be lazy, check it all over like your flying IN it" , gives me a different perspective and saves a lot of downtime.

I've done more flying without Ti than with, but in order to make the switch between the two easier, I just finished fiddling with my futaba 6 channel - I took the Ti switch from the front and traded it with the Trainer switch from the top - now my Ti switch is in easier reach, as i found it less comfortable to keep a finger on the switch when it was located on the front of the radio!

What happened? When your first got your DF you were shooting nice pics right away, it seems something is a miss with your DF again, maybe your gyros are gone?
I am still waiting for a good day to try Ti again. I like the idea of moving the switch.

I am flying a DF3 for 2 years now.I have 7 broken motor mount 4 motors 2 canopies replace 2 gyros from the board and so many other things that I dont remember. To give you the idea (my board doesnt have the top board that yours have, but the canopies for the DF3 dont exist any more so I use a canopie with holes) I cant understant how cant you fly straight
