Probably going to change the back header to a wrap forward type to give me the correct distance for the tuned pipe..
Other pipe will probable exit forward..? Engines in the pics aren't where they will be going... Still need to get some measurements from RAJ on the Correct CG on the Hull..
Later, Tom H.

Yes That's an S6 MH$ counterrotating drive.. Wanted it to be scale looking.... Looks very heavy duty... Needed to run the big props with the single drive.. was told this was the way to go.. Thanx, Tom H.

Tom,
I just measured mine. The rear sparkplug is 14 1/4" from the transom (measured from the inside of the transom. Yes, a deep v header is best for the rear engine. This setup should set the CG at about 30% I'm also working on the scoops for you. Give me till after the weekend.

Thanx for the info Raj,
Engines are mounted, Exhaust header changed to a wrap forward, fuel tank mounted, (Wanted to use two, one mounted on each side, but not any room with front engine exhaust running forward.. Any ideas?) S6 mounted, maybe a little higher than I wanted but we'll see how it runs..
Any Measurements for the trim tab mounting? Thanx, Tom H.

I have tabs on mine, but they are cranked up in the air and are more for show. Does not seem to need them. Have you found a way to plumb the forward exhaust out the side? I used a 4" curved 90" metal pipes from the hardware store. It exits out a bonzi exhaust tip that is inserted from the outside going in (you can see it in the pic of the side of the boat).

Also, have decided what you are doing with the stuffing tube? All I used was a piece of 5/16 that was supported at one end with a t-bar and supported at the other end by sticking it into the drive (with a small rubber sleeve over the tube to take out the slop). What prop are you running?

I see where your trim tabs start near that little chine on the outside.. That's where I'll mount mine I guess..
Can you give me a close up of the forward exhaust tip with the added piece? I really wanted to exit both out the back but your way lookes better..
As for the stuffing tube, I'll probably use a t-bar on the front and do the same as you on the rear. I would think the radio box would strenthen it as it will be running through the center. I would like to be able to mount it more solid on the rear though... Hate to loose a cable and take out the radiobox at the same time..
Haven't decided on a prop yet.. Still plenty of time..LOL
JAW said he would hook me up.. What do you have on yours?
Do you have a spare Bonzi exhaust tip to sell?? What do you have your pipes set at for distance to the belly? Won't be much adjusting the forward one after drilling the hole for the side exit.. LOL
Thanx Raj,
Appreciate the help.. Tom H.

Tom,
It is tough to get both pipes to exit out the back. The 90 degree piece to exit it out the side looks fine and is covered under the deck anyway. As you can see, I have a fake tip on the transom to make it look like duel pipes out the back. My method uses a total of 3 bonzi tips (1 in the back and real, 1 in the back and fake, 1 mounted from the outside through the side). Ya, I got a few bonzi tips left, but I am making my own now and should not need my extra bonzi tips.

Make the forward pipe match the rear for distance for the belly.

You can use two rubber grommets (one front and one back) of the radio box to hold your flex cable in place. I find two high torque standard servos (hitec 645mg) are much easier to rig than 2 1/4 scale servos.

Cut the square end of the flex cable down so you do not have any extra square section sticking out of the square hole. About 1" of square section is all you need. The square section does not bend as well as the round section and it will adversly effect your steering by limiting the steering angles and increasing loads. (there's a tip the Doctor forgot to tell you!!)

Raj,
Just put the engines in the hull(Mounted) and put the pipes on.
Looks like 13 " for the distance on the pipes.. Can't go any shorter due to the wrap forward header... Just need a pic of the piece you added on the the forward pipe to exit out the side...
I'll use the grommets on the entrance and exit of the Dr. Buck's Radio box I'm using.. Planned on using two Hitec 645 servos for the steering anyway !! LOL
Thanx for the tip on the drive cable..
I'll take one of those Bonzi Tips off your hands if you don't mind.. Thanx, Tom H.

I'm going to the shop later today...I"ll grab some measurements for the pickups. As far as how to do it, I drew out the two rectangle shaped holes on the outside and cut it out with a dremel. I went back with a file (and some sandpaper wrapped around a popsickle stick) to finish it off. I kept test fitting the pickups from the outside as I was sanding. Try to get it nice and tight so they will "snap in" to the hole from the outside. Once the hole is cut, you may have to sand away (or add) some material on the inside to get the hull thin (or thick) enough so the pick up sits flush to the bottom. I just epoxied them in place. Be sure to cover the nipples when you epoxy so you don't accidently get any in there.

Thanx,
I'll wait for the measurements and get started on the water pickups later today.

Measured from the outside of the boat....each pickup is 12mm away from the transom (12mm away from the edge) and both are 10mm away from the center of the V (pickups are 20mm apart). I get plenty of water flow. Are you running a water pump? I'm not on any of the ones I set up.

I've installed the water pickups in the bottom of the "V", T-Bar for the stuffing tube, Radio box set in place witht the stuffing tube through it, Trim Tabs installed... Don't think I'll have it in the water before the Big Freeze ..

HI All,
I need a little help here...
I want to use two servos to steer my outdrive unit. One rod to each side of the Outdrive control arm at the top of the unit.
Each servo will be on each side of the stuffing tube which runs through the center of my radio box.
How do I set up the receiver/Radio for this use?
I usually use one servo on all my boats..
Is there a splitter I need?
Don't have much room in the radio box.. Thanx in advance..

Hi Tom

You can use a Y harness, they make a couple of different ones
Towers Hobbies for one harness you could use or make up your own.

i agree with the use of two servos , my rcm drive was tuff on my single servo due to the prop fighting it too..

Thanx for the help..
I didn't realize that the servos would both be turning in the same direction.
I'll have to pick up a short "Y" harness for the Hitec Servos.
Thanx again, Tom H.
