race to wn?
I hate when people get crazy when racing especially when thay start yelling at people and its Just totally a small thing. A kid driving an e-maxx would not stop driving with a broken knucle and kept yelling about how he could not drive straight.
So do you race for fun or to win?
And do you like the kind of person like that?

RE: race to wn?
Sounds like a guy I raced with before they closed the local track. We would be on the driver stand racing and all he would do is talk about how bad the track is like he was running on totally different track then the rest. Hard to have fun when you have a crybaby crying. Bad part is he is in his middle 30’s. [X(]

I race to win, but it depends on your meaning behind it. I'll race pretty competitively, but I definately don't ruin the fun.
Theres this guy at my track who was having some sort of engine problems with his buggy a few months back, and he got so ticked off about the whole thing, he yelled a "bad word" and threw his glow ignitor agianst the wall. That big baby... is also in his 30's.
People like that just take the fun out of the hobby and take things a little bit too seriously.

RE: race to wn?
I race for fun. I try to backflips off the ramps and jump big. Of course we always have a crowd because the nitros are so loud. I like it the most when I am the last one in, and there is a crowd, because thats when I jump big, do backflips and run really fast. I like to win, but I have more fun drving with this one guy who likes to jump big too. He's got a fast car too. I typically break a part every day that I race, but I have fun doing it!!

They guy I was talking about has so much trouble just finishing a race and most times got mad slung his truck in the back of his pick up and would do more damage then the original problem. Now if this is sums attitude I do not see how you could call that fun. He is the one all ways talking about how fast his stuff is or I am going to out run you but most times does not even finish. This is a hobby and if it is not any fun to someone they need to get out of it.

i havent raced cars yet (thats what the new GT2 is for) but i have raced airplanes, and i just do it for fun. i normally end up at the middle of the pack at the end of the day, but im fine with that. when i start racing cars i want it to be the same thing, ill race to be with other people with the same interest and have fun doing it.

RE: race to wn?
Well thers a differnce between racing to win, and being a **** head. I personally race for a mix. Im trying my absolute best to win, and to me thats fun. If im not going all out, and not seeing what i can do, Its not as much fun. But that in no way means i get all pissy if i lose, and do stuff like that. Once the race is over i might be a little disappointed i didnt win, but that fades ins seconds, into realizeing how much fun i just had, regardless of whether i loose . But in the end every track will ahve a guy like that, and i just ignore them.

I voted fun,
Winning and compatition are part of the fun. I would rather have a great battle with someone and finish 2nd than get 1st by three laps. Where's the fun in that?

I race 1/8 MTs and it can get pretty competative at times - but not so much that people will start hurling abuse at one another. Everyone knows everyone else, so it's really just a big group of friends up on the podium. I've been racing at times and chatting away to a buddy whos stood next to me also trying to get his truck around the track.
As Gex said, the best part of racing is when you're neck and neck with another racer - battling it out for a sinlge place and having a great time in the process - doesn't matter of you're battling for 1'st or just 2'nd to last!
Even the trucks get friendly!

I race mt as well and the fun part is watching trucks "get friendly"
infact hears a list of good stories
1. a revo got pined between my savage and an lst( we know how revos are 10th not 1/8) it went flying and "got friendly"
with the e-maxx in last
2. 2 1/10 buggys got stuck on top of one another the bottom one just kept racing
thats it for now

RE: race to wn?
I guess I 'race' to win. but I dont really care if I dont win, I love passing people and drag's down the strech, I love avoiding crashed cars by inches, or 'splitting' two cars, or even two cars that have spun out. All thats the best parts to me, nothing better than 2 people trading positions back and forth for a few laps, it turns into a game of who will mess up first.
but mostly we just play around, havent even had a keep track of laps race for a few weeks. Just run what you brung, and have as much fun as possible.

RE: race to wn?
When racing I used to race to win but didnt get my panties all up in a wad if I lost. Now everyone knows that winning is fun and some are just so competitive that they cant have funw ithout winning. Now to those people I kinda ignore as those are the people that spend $$$$$$$ just to win $50 for a weekly purse. Now to those who have the money and spend it I dont really care as I would do the same if I had the money but it's those guys that spend that mega bucks and if they dont win they go off in a rage. Now everyone can get mad at times I mean if you winning and a lap'd car makes a stupid move and flips your truck or spins you out and you loose. Now racing side by side for several laps is the best thing about racing in my mind as it doesnt matter if you loose or win but that you had fun.
I just think thats the best about racing is the side by side action, but yes some do take it way to far and start throwing things around. I usually let them do what they want and go about my business as long as they dont throw anything at anybody or near anybody I'm fine with them destroying there equipment as it's there equipment. But as far as racing to win, yes when I raced I raced to win but I didnt get mad by anymeans if I lost to a better person. As long as I had fun thats what it was about.

RE: race to wn?
lets get serious here. we're racing toy cars (ok- expensive toy cars!). i like to win but not at all costs. i like doing well- but not when it'll hinder someone else's experience. i like having my car "dialled"- but i ALWAYS help out others who need assistance.
