Default close gear ratio for 3.3 revo?

i was just curious, does the 2 speed close gear ratio from traxxas for the revo 3.3 make it shift into second gear faster or what?

Default RE: close gear ratio for 3.3 revo?

I have recently installed it. What it does is, in short, drops your top speed. That's not the intent but that's the end result. It changes the gears so they are closer together. Less of a jump between gears reducing rpm. If your using your truck for short tracks not concerned with top speed then this is for you. If you want a faster acceleration but lower top end then get the close ratio.

Hope that helped...I think I may have made it more unclear and confused myself in the effort. [sm=spinnyeyes.gif]

Here's what Traxxas has to say about it...It's exactly what I said but totaly different!

Only Revo offers the ability to custom tailor the 2-speed gear ratios for either wide or close ratio gear shifts. The close ratio set reduces the engine’s RPM change between first and second gear for nearly seamless shifting and speed, even in the corners! Choose wide ratio gear set to allow Revo to run in first gear longer through the infield, shifting later for a big run down the straightaway.
