CLUTCH BELLS FOR REVO BIG BLOCK CONVERSION?
I was wondering what size clutch bells you guys are using that have done
a big block conversion on their Revo, 1/8 scale or stock Traxxas??
I am running a STS D30M with a Qoncepts stage three big block
conversion. I know that an 1/8 scale three pin flywheel has bigger clutch
shoes avaiable than any Traxxas clutch setup. This engine produces massive
power and I don't want to constantly be replacing clutch shoes. Does an 1/8 scale
clutch bell have the same gear pitch as the stock Revo spur gears?? I am currently
running a hardened steel spur gear on my truck.

Supertib would probably be your best resource for all things STS related. He was preaching just such a combo as yours recently, so he surely hs all the info already worked out for the installation.

Mach .28 hpi 3 shoe clutch, 20 tooth bell, traxxas 38 tooth spur gear, wide ratio gears an still could wheelie at will the mach boasted 3hp @28,000 rpms the sts 30 should handle that gearing no problem
This was with the new era kit but I think it will fit the qoncepts kit the same
here is a GTSUM with 18/38 and the mach .28

i'm running an os30 with rotostart sat on a traxxas bb kit, with a savage 3 pin flywheel, clutch and 18T clutchbell, i find this deals well with the extra power so far
i am yet to experiment with spur gears, at the mo i'm running a 38 tooth and having plenty of fun as it is

I use the new era conversion its an 1/8th scale clutch and flywheel combo. Fits great and works awesome. I use 18 tooth clutch bell with 36 spur. That gives me a good balance of lowend and great top speed. I also have close ratio in tranny.

If you can get it to work get muggen alloy shoes with 1.0-1.1 mm springs, whatever suits you best.
